Breitling
Founded in 1884 in St-Imier, Breitling built its identity around aviation and the chronograph, and its vintage advertising makes that focus impossible to miss. The brand was first to put a slide rule on a chronograph dial with the 1942 Chronomat, before the 1952 Navitimer turned the wrist into a working flight computer. The ads spoke to pilots first—civilian and military—running the Navitimer as a "co-pilot for life" and casting the SuperOcean, Chronomat, and TransOcean as "instruments for professionals."
