No brand is more bound to the racetrack than Heuer, whose founder's descendant Jack Heuer turned motorsport sponsorship into an art form well before corporate branding was common in the sport. Its advertising ran on the language of the circuit—the Carrera named for a legendary road race, the Autavia, and the 1969 Monaco, the first square water-resistant automatic chronograph. That blue-dialed Monaco became immortal on Steve McQueen's wrist in the 1971 film Le Mans, an image the brand still trades on today.
