This is denim with the heat turned all the way up. When the Marciano brothers traded the South of France for Los Angeles and founded Guess in 1981, they married European sensuality to American cool—and in 1985 Paul Marciano switched the campaigns to stark black-and-white and never looked back.
Shot largely through Ellen von Unwerth's lens, the "Guess Girl" became a cultural force: Claudia Schiffer in the 1989 bustier shot that made her career, alongside Anna Nicole Smith, Eva Herzigová, Carla Bruni, and Naomi Campbell, all channeling Brigitte Bardot bombshell with a sun-drenched, retro-Americana edge. Each is an authentic vintage print, pure timeless attitude, and beautiful enough to hang in a dressing room, boutique, or anywhere confidence is the point.
