In 1956, riding the prestige of a watch worn in the highest offices of power, Rolex launched one of its most audacious campaigns: "Men who guide the destinies of the world wear Rolex watches." These full-page spreads traded adventure for authority. In place of divers and pilots stood presidents, royalty, military commanders, and statesmen—dignified figures at podiums and conference tables, rendered in stark black and white, the watch positioned not as an instrument but as a mark of trust, leadership, and consequence.
