Beer

Beer advertising is Americana in a glass—less about status than about the tavern, the ballgame, and the backyard gathering, and it produced some of the most charming commercial art of the century. The great brewing names built the canon: Budweiser, the self-styled "King of Beers"; Schlitz, "the beer that made Milwaukee famous"; Pabst Blue Ribbon; Miller "High Life"; and Hamm's, from the land of sky-blue waters. Across the Atlantic, Guinness raised the art form to legend—John Gilroy's whimsical toucans and zoo animals and the cheerfully improbable promise that "Guinness is good for you." And beyond the giants lie hundreds of regional and long-vanished breweries whose entire visual identity now survives only in ephemera like these—catnip for breweriana collectors.

Each is an authentic vintage print, all hand-painted taverns and mid-century cheer, and few things look more at home above a bar. Browse the collection below.
